SAY SO!

Psalm 107:1-2 tells God’s people to give words of testimony to the faithfulness of God. “Oh give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever! Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he has redeemed from trouble.” Then the psalm goes on to recount the ups and downs of the people of Isreal. They experienced heartache, trouble, opposition … and God’s wondrous provision through it all. Why wouldn’t they give public praise to God?! In our day, people speak their mind all the time, even when wisdom would probably tell them to remain silent. Opinions are posted on social media, protests are held for every conceivable issue, and have you noticed how many people have their own blogs, channels, and podcasts lately?! Here’s my one point – How sweet it is when God’s people give voice to the love, care, and provision God has shown to them in daily life. I love hearing testimonies from God’s people where they weave together the beauty of God’s story being written on their story. It was my favorite thing this Easter – testimonies of God the great Promise-Keeper, testimonies of His wondrous work in salvation, testimonies followed by the obedient step of baptism. Thank you, Lord, for your steadfast love! May it fill our hearts and mouths day after day.
